The Českomoravský kriketový svaz and its development partner Kriketová Akademie ČR are delighted to announce the sixth Czech cohort of the ICC Level 1 Cricket Coach course that will take place in Prague during the weekend of 4th and 5th April, 2026.
Course Outcome
On completion of the course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to deliver fun and engaging coaching sessions for beginner participants.
Who is the course for?
This course is open to anyone aged over 16 who wishes to become a cricket coach. To be eligible to participate in the course, participants must have successfully completed the ICC Foundation Course and ICC Level 1 Coach online modules.
Candidate competencies
In order to successfully complete this course, participants will need to demonstrate the following competencies:
– Demonstration of key skills required to be successful in cricket
– The ability to create a safe and inclusive environment
– The ability to deliver fun and engaging sessions
– The ability to adapt coaching sessions to work with different participants
Course delivery and cost
This course is delivered in two phases:
– Distance Learning. Participants will be provided access to 5 online modules to complete in their own time. NOTE: due to a change in provider these modules are temporarily unavailable. Participants will be expected to complete the online modules in the 2 weeks leading up to the course (when ICC will release the new elearning).
– In Person Learning. Participants must attend an in person course, delivered by an ICC Tutor.
The course induction will take place ONLINE on Friday 3rd April at 7pm. The in-person modules and assessment will be delivered on April 4th-5th, 2025 in the sports hall at ZŠ Lipence.
The course fee is 2000,- per coach. ČMKS and KAČR will subsidise 50% of the course fee for all participants, therefore the per participant rate will be only 1000,- per coach.Note that the 2026 coaching rate for KAČR ICC Level 1 coaches is over 400 CZK per hour, so if you become an active coach following the course, the cost can be quickly recovered.
The course will be delivered by the head coach of Kriketová Akademie ČR, Chris Pearce who is a full time cricket coach, qualified with ICC Level 3 and ECB Advanced Coach certifications. He is qualified ICC Coach Tutor.
This course will be delivered in English. Czech-speaking cohorts will follow.
Who is it for?
The ICC Level 1 Coach course is open to anyone who wishes to become a cricket coach. The minimum age to start the course is 16. To be eligible to participate in the course, participants must have successfully completed the ICC Foundation Certificate and ICC Level 1 Coach courses online (free and online – more information on how to access these will follow).
Safeguarding
All participants must provide a clean criminal record check (výpis z rejstříku trestů).*
To achieve certification for the ICC Level 1 Coach course, learners must have a valid first aid certificate (no more than 2 years old).*
* these two items can be provided after completion of the course to become fully qualified. The Czech Red Cross have first aid courses for English speakers coming up soon, see link below for more info. A 'first aid for cricketers and cricket coaches' course can be delivered if there will be sufficient interest.
